European mountain ash (Sorbus aucuparia) is an ornamental deciduous tree native to Europe and parts of Asia. It has attractive foliage, white flowers in spring, and bright red berries in autumn. The bark is light grey, and deeply fissured, while the leaves are bright green and have finely toothed margins. It is often used for landscaping purposes due to its attractive appearance and showy flowers and fruits. It grows best in full sun and well-drained, fertile soils, and is tolerant of wind, coastal exposure, and somewhat poor soils.
