Meadow sage, Salvia nemorosa 'Ostfriesland' EAST FRIESLAND, is a perennial that grows in clumps up to 24” tall. It produces medium green, lance-shaped leaves yielding a profusion of steel-blue blooms in late spring through summer. Re-seeding itself freely, the plant is a popular and easy-care garden staple. It is drought tolerant and does well in poor soil. When planted in full sun, the blooms will be a vivid blue; when in part shade, they will be a lighter, paler shade. Deadheading spent flowers will help ensure a long season of bloom. Meadow sage adds a gorgeous pop of color to the perennial garden.
