The short version
Every retailer link in Compare Prices is an affiliate link. If you buy something after clicking through, we may earn a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the price, whether you found it through us or not — and it never changes the order we show results in. Comparisons are ranked on price, not on how much a retailer pays us.
1. What an affiliate link is
When you click through to a retailer from a GrowMuir price comparison, that link may carry a tracking code identifying that you came from us. If you go on to buy something, the retailer pays us a commission for referring you. This is a standard arrangement in online retail, run either directly with a retailer or through an affiliate network acting on their behalf.
We are never a party to the purchase itself. You buy from the retailer, on the retailer's own site, under the retailer's own terms.
2. It never changes what you pay
A commission comes out of the retailer's own margin, not yours. You pay exactly the price shown on the retailer's site, whether or not you arrived there through a GrowMuir link.
3. It never changes what we show you first
Compare Prices ranks results by price, low to high. A retailer's affiliate status, and how much commission they pay, plays no part in that ordering — it cannot move a cheaper listing below a dearer one. The one place a retailer's standing with us is consulted at all is to break an exact tie between two listings at the same price, which has no effect on which one you'd rather buy.
4. Every retailer we compare is a partner
There's no such thing as a non-affiliate result on GrowMuir today: every retailer whose products appear in Compare Prices has a commercial affiliate relationship with us. We're telling you that plainly rather than let you assume otherwise.
5. Garden centre partnerships are a separate thing
Some garden centres pay GrowMuir for an enhanced directory listing through the AskMuir Garden Centre Companion — a place in our garden centre directory, not a product placement. Whether a garden centre is a paying partner never influences whether AskMuir says a plant suits your garden. That check is run the same way whichever centre you're standing in, partner or not.
