Bayberry (Myrica Pensylvanica 'Morton') is an evergreen shrub with a high tolerance for cold weather. It can reach up to six feet tall with leathery, dark green leaves and light gray bark. The plant is often used for hedges, winter interest in landscapes, and natural barriers. Its leaves are fragrant and the bark produces a wax that can be used in candles and soap, as well as for medicinal properties. In the spring, the plant produces small, creamy yellow flowers that will later bear a drupe-like fruit during the summer.
