The American Elm (Ulmus americana) is a deciduous tree native to eastern North America and grow up to heights of over 60 feet. Its majestic branches extend in a vase shape forming a vase canopy at the top, making it a popular landscape tree. Its bark is gray-brown with ridges and furrows, and oval leaves sometimes appear in alternating sets of two. Its flowers are small and bloom in early spring.
