Bearded Penstemon (Penstemon barbatus subsp. coccineus) is a unique plant that is ornamental and can be grown in the garden. It produces up to 30 cm high clumps of arching stems with opposite pairs of linear leaves and its flowers are red or orange in colour. The blooms have prominent, curved stamens that lend the flower a 'bearded' look. The blossoms not only make a beautiful display but attract butterflies and pollinators to the garden. Bearded Penstemon grows best in well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. Its long-lasting blooms make it a great choice for a garden of any size.

Pack and plant sizes vary. The same-looking listing can mean a single plant at one supplier and a pack of several at another, and pot or plug sizes differ too. Check the size on the supplier’s own page before you buy — we’re working on pulling this information in for you directly.
