Blue Eyed Grass (Sisyrinchium montanum) is a common wildflower found in lawns, pastures and gardens across North America. It is a delicate perennial that grows in clumps, producing slender stems of bright blue flowers from late spring through early summer. The blooms, measuring about an inch across, are distinctive with their bright yellow centre and blue petals. It prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Easy to establish with minimal care required, it is an ideal choice for a low-maintenance garden or meadow. In addition to its beauty, this plant is beneficial to wildlife, easing food scarcity in the spring and providing nectar and shelter to bees and other pollinators.
